 At the core of every great garden is how we care for our soil – what we feed our gardens and how we maximize our efforts in the garden by using organic practices. Ms. Schoniger will inspire us with small changes that garner big rewards to your garden soil.

Learn all you want to know about the care and
pruning of roses

Presenter: Bob Kolb

Workshop Fee $20.00 – Time:  12:00 pm 

 Bob Kolb has raised roses in Point Loma since 1971, starting with a small number of roses and growing to 115 in his current Sunset Cliffs garden. He is a Consulting Rosarian, a designation given by the American Rose Society after completing training and gaining experience. Bob is an active member of the San Diego Rose Society, serving on the board of directors for many years including two years as President. He volunteers in the Balboa Park Rose Garden Corps, a volunteer group that helps the city care for over 1700 roses in the park. Bob will share his experience growing roses in the San Diego coastal zone along with a hands-on demonstration of pruning techniques.

Ikebana -The ancient Japanese art of flower arranging

Anyone signing up for this workshop is in for a real treat. Jackie is a top-ranked Ikebana master and the president and leading teacher for the San Diego Sakura Chapter of the Ohara School in both classical and contemporary design forms. She teaches and conducts numerous demonstrations, workshops, and exhibitions locally and internationally. Everyone attending will leave with their own Ikebana flower arrangement.
