A Bouquet of Thanks - Honoring our Veterans
(An Ongoing Floral Project)
Chair: TBD
Bouquet of Thanks is a time-honored tradition with the Village Garden Club of La Jolla. San Diego is the home to the nation’s largest concentration of military personnel, with seven military bases.
More than 240,000 veterans have transitioned out of active duty and now reside in America’s Finest City. Our members bring smiles of joy to patients at the La Jolla Veterans Administration Medical Center when providing succulent pumpkins at Halloween, poinsettia at Christmas, lilies for the chapel and welcome desks at Easter and patriotic flowers for President’s and Memorial Day for all patients and nursing stations.
These offerings are made possible by generous donations of money, time and talent of our members. The patients and nurses and doctors are so grateful for our patronage. The Jennifer Moreno Department of Veterans Medical Center provides primary care andspecialty health services, including mental health care, pain management, treatment for spinal cord injuries and disorders, suicide prevention, women’s health services, and more.
It is such a worthy cause; thank you for your support!
A donation form is available in this yearbook on page 45.
