The Village Garden Club of La Jolla
Membership Renewal process for 2026/2027
It is time to renew your Village Garden Club of La Jolla membership. The renewal process will begin on March 1, 2026, and end on May 1, 2026. We are so happy that you would like to continue your membership in the club and encourage you to carefully read this document before you renew. After reading you may either click the link at the bottom of this email or log on to our club web site to renew.
Just like last year, membership renewal and payment will be done online.
THE FIRST PART OF THE FORM COLLECTS PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT IS USED IN THE ANNUAL YEARBOOK. None of this information is shared EXCEPT in the yearbook, which is only distributed to members. Please carefully review the information you submit so that the yearbook has accurate information.
THE SECOND PART OF THE FORM ASKS YOU TO SELECT YOUR MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY. Your selection will prompt the form to add the correct amount for your dues to the club on the payment page.
Our club has four categories of members:
Active Members are expected to attend a minimum of five general meetings during the club year, which meets monthly between September and May. In addition, active members are expected to serve on at least one committee or participate in a major project. Also, active members are expected to provide refreshments several times a year. Active members may vote and sponsor new members and receive copies of the monthly electronic newsletter and annual yearbook. Current dues for active members is $80. Current dues for new members is $90 (which includes the fee for a personal name tag).
Supporting Members are members of five years or more who elect to be exempt from the duties of active members. They do not retain voting rights and sponsorship privileges. Supporting members receive copies of the monthly electronic newsletter and the annual yearbook. The current dues for supporting members is $110.
Friends are former members who relinquish their membership and the rights and privileges of membership. They are given priority if they later reapply for membership. They will receive copies of the monthly electronic newsletter. They may attend meetings as guests of the club by paying the guest fee. The current dues for friends is $25.
Life Members retain their life membership and have the rights and privileges of active members without the obligation of paying annual dues. This category of membership is no longer open.
THE THIRD PART OF THE FORM ASKS YOU TO CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION TO OUR IMPORTANT CLUB PROJECTS. Donations may be made in any amount and are optional. Please know that donations are important to the success of our club and are always greatly appreciated.
The committees and projects that accept donations include:
Bouquet of Thanks for Veterans
Commemorative Tree Planting
Penny Pines Forest Restoration
Schoolyard Garden Grant
Speaker Fund
Wreaths Across America
You will be asked to designate the dollar amount you wish to give to each of these projects. You may complete the form without donating by simply continuing. At the end of this section you will be asked to enter your credit card information for your dues and donation. This information will not be saved nor shared with anyone else.
IN THE LAST SECTION YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SELECT COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS OR OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR NEXT YEAR. If you are an active member please select as many as you would like but NO LESS THAN THREE.
Other categories of members may simply scroll through these options but are encouraged to select an assignment. The club needs lots of workers!
