Speaker: Kiana Underwood
“The Art of Flower Style and Design”
Inspired by her grandfather’s garden in Iran, Kiana brought her passion for flowers with her when she moved from Iran to the U.S. in 1990. She has also lived in Italy and Washington, D.C. She earned a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in International Relations, however, her passion for flowers remained.
Encouraged by her husband, this mother of three children turned that passion into a business. She is a floral designer, entrepreneur, and the artist behind Tulipina, a boutique floral design business in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she now resides. She shares her talents by teaching floral design both nationally and internationally.
Starting with an idea, a website, perseverance, and a lot of hard work, she began her work without formal training but from her own experience. She found that she could create amazing designs from the variety of flowers and foliage in her own back yard.
Kiana’s work can be seen on her website, as well as in Brides, Town and Country, Elle, Décor, Country Living, Style Me Pretty, and many other publications.
