“Natural Designs for Everyday Living"
SPEAKER: JANE GODSHALK AIFD
Jane Godshalk is teaching practical floral design for the home florist. Instead of using the unusual flower to make a floral statement, she uses flowers that are easy to purchase at the grocery store and pick from the garden. She combines these flowers with eco-friendly design techniques and without the use of floral foam. Jane’s techniques have been published in a book, Flower Arranging Secrets—Natural Designs for Everyday Living.
Jane actively teaches floral design at Longwood Gardens, an estate established by Pierre S. duPont, outside Philadelphia and renowned for its horticulture, education, and performing arts. In addition, she lectures and gives workshops across the country and in Europe. In June 2014, Jane represented the United States as one of six international demonstrators at the World Flower Show WAFA in Dublin, Ireland.
Among her numerous awards are the Garden Club of America’s national medal for “Consistently Innovative Floral Design” and the American Horticultural Society's Great American Gardener Award.
